Honda Jazz door lock query

Colleague has a 2005 Honda Jazz and all 3 door locks have failed over time. She got a new drivers door lock fitted Jan 2011 and that has now failed.
The problem is the barrel as opposed to the locking mechanism.
I am wondering whether it would be possible to install some sort of plip central locking remote control (car doesn't have r/c locking though it does have central locking working off the drivers door key) rather than replacing the locks again?
Any thoughts / advice on this?

Have you tried selling it back to Honda for their museum?
But seriously...
...other models have remote locking. Time for a scrappy trawl?
I don't know if the system is integrated into any, or talks to, the engine (or other) ECU or is stand alone.
There used to be aftermarket kits for such things, can you still get them?
