EDITORS’ NOTES

Following its 2009 reunion, it took Blink 182 a few years to deliver Neighborhoods. So the fact that the 2012 five-song EP Dogs Eating Dogs took less than two months to record and release is a great sign. The opening “When I Was Young” builds anticipation with a 40-second intro of ambient electronica before the band's propulsive punk-pop is warmed up and running. The song reminds us of Tom DeLonge’s strength in contrasting sunny, catchy melodies with downtrodden lyrics—the ones here muse on what a drag it is getting old. Fans of Travis Barker and Mark Hoppus’ post–Blink 182 band +44 will find trace elements of that group's “Lycanthrope” in the title track (though some parts of the chorus sound somewhat influenced by Alkaline Trio). Similarly, “Disaster” contains leftover DNA from DeLonge’s post–Blink 182 project Angels & Airwaves. This is first noticeable in the opening analog tones, which sound like manipulated radio frequencies bleeding into pulsing rhythms; they suddenly morph into Blink 182's unmistakably punchy guitar pop.

EDITORS’ NOTES

DED is almost like neighborhoods part 2 in my opinion with its alternative, space, and pop punk influenced style featured on every track of the album. Personally, this album is more keen to the style of Angels and Airwaves especially with the song, 'When I Was Young'. A great EP to be added to my collection. This album is comprised of songs off of Blink-182's 2011 Album 'Neighborhoods' and their 2012 EP 'Dogs Eating Dogs'. I wanted to show what it would have been like if their EP 'Dogs Eating Dogs' was a full album. Dogs Eating Dogs is the second track off of Blink-182’s 2012 EP Dogs Eating Dogs. The title is a play on the famous proverb, “It’s a Dog Eat Dog World” popularized in 1931.

Review on the Previews

Keynote themes free download mac. None of the songs sound like they belong on Chesire Cat, Dude Ranch, Enema of The State, Take Off Your Pants and Jacket, Box Car Racer, AVA, +44, The Transplants, Neighborhoods..these songs have entirely new elements but it doesn't disappoint. Definately buy this album. It still sounds like Blink-182. Just another step up!

'I guess this is growing up'

Blink 182 Dogs Eating Dogs Ep Rar

You can tell that they all have their new influences. Tom with Angels and Airwaves, Mark with +44 and producing for all kinds of bands, and Travis even with his rap drumming career that he has going. You could even hear it in Neighborhoods. But you can't expect them to keep writing about high school and keep up with these fast punk anthems you would hear on albums like Dude Ranch. They have grown up. I mean they are almost 40! Times change, people change, music changes. Even though this is a drastic change from their first albums, they still can write amazing music. But it reminds me of Boxcar Racer. That's what I like most. They even said Boxcar was a major influence behind the album. Another win for Blink.

The Best

Blink have entered into a new chapter, this EP shows the best of what's to come in their future.
